Secrets of the Spotted Guardians
Ladybugs, also known as ladybirds or lady beetles, are adorable little beetles belonging to the family Coccinellidae.
They have a favorite rounded body size and are known best for their scarlet or orange color with black dots. Quaint things like the depicts little droplets of happiness in the middle of natural scenery. We also take ladybugs as one of our helpful insects since its diet comprises of plant pests like aphids, mites and scale insects that could harm our plants.

Ever wondered why ladybugs are practically diverse since there are over 5,000 types all around the globe? They are commonly produced in many various color combinations and designs and thus, no two pieces are similar. Now before we only link ladybugs to the land, we find them also in freshwater biomes, forests, and gardens. Fun fact: No, they are beetles with those beautiful little hardened forewing cases called elytra which encase the much weaker hindwings.

Oh these lovely little creatures undergo quite a change! These are found in their various life stages, that is, eggs, larvae, pupal stage and eventually the adults which are the predominantly known ladybird beetles. Couple with that a cool defense mechanism – when threatened, ladybugs can release a yellowish fluid from their legs that scares predators off. It can only be said that the writers really do have tricks up their sleeves.

In some cultures ladybugs mean prosperity and safety. It’s like good luck charms of some sort, only invisible, and hardly are big as pointers. It is considered by gardeners and farmers as extremely darling because of the natural insect- repelling capacity of these small creatures. One must not underestimate these creatures because, as it has been seen, they have such an important role in the ecosystem.
